It was a lovely morning for a ride. I chose the right option today. #Cyling #CylingLife #CyclingPhotos #FediBikes #MastoBikes #BikeNite #BikeTooter #PennyFarthing #OrdinaryBicycle #Oslo #SheLies

So I was doing my almost daily cycle down to #Oslo centre and while on top of the #Operahuset what do I see out of the corner of my vision but @th@social.v.st's ship (OK it is not actually his personally but he is a crew member, so I consider it sort of his as well). For those that do not recognise it, it's the #Draken, famous for a few reasons but most recently it stars in The #Odyssey (2026). #UnicycleLife

I was bored yesterday evening but also tired. In the end I decided to force myself to go for a ride anyway and figured I would not go too far. Then I found myself unicycling almost 29km (17.8 miles) around Oslo, with 320m (1050ft) of elevation gain. 🤣 https://onthegomap.com/s/rj6v1lla #UnicycleLife

A sticker I saw on my travels the other day in Osnabruck. Posting here mainly because I feel like the fedi would appreciate it. So yeah, I am basically just like whoring. 🤷🤣 But seriously 🏳️⚧️ 💖 🫂

7+ hours of train trips today. The first connection was already adjusted to be razor thin due to timetable changes that happened after I first booked it. Now in addition the train is also massively delayed. This means the rest of my route is a bust and any possible alternative route at short notice will take hours longer. It is tricky to explain to the kids why we always take trains while their friends fly, especially when this often happens in Germany. The reason is climate crisis but …

I might have left Ireland in reality but in my heart, maybe not entirely. I bought this last night while in Rotterdam. ❤️🍀

RE: https://mastodon.social/@Edent/116952092299773292 Ireland with TFI Live and TFI Go apps for busses is another level of hell. You need to use Live to find the route and times and it is buggy as hell. Then every person in your party needs their own phone and copy of the Go app (including children) to buy tickets. You also need to register accounts for each phone (no guest buying) and card details. Oh and they sometimes log you out. In Dublin using Leap cards was a lot easier but you have to...

RE: https://mastodon.au/@isol/116858741238893915 Which is why unicycling uphill feels much easier than bicycling uphill at the same gear ratio.

I finally found a solution to one of those problems that I know so many of you can relate to. You know when you are commuting on your Halfbike™ to the office on a chilly spring day, and you look down to your wrist to check the time but can't read it because your sleeve covers your watch? Well friends, I have the answer for you… #Halfbike #FingerCheck #WristCheck #FingerWatchesArePractical

RE: https://velocipederider.com/@ruari/109306907560388574 I should get the video redone to include tallbikes, right? 🤔

I asked @ltgorm if he wanted to try a #Tallbike and he instantly said "yes". He also mounted it first time and had no issues or concerns. He didn't even ask for a helmet.

I do not use Ubuntu as a personal distro, however I have a couple of test machines with it on. Whenever I have to use it I remember why I do not use it. Just tried to do-release-upgrade and it quickly fell apart and left me with a system that prints this when I try and run apt apt: symbol lookup error: apt: undefined symbol: _ZN3APT6Solver14InternalCliWhyB5cxx11ER11pkgDepCacheN8pkgCache11PkgIteratorEb, version APTPKG_7.0 P.S. To be clear. I am ranting. I am not looking for a fix from anyone.

I came across this graffiti today and I was disappointed. Why? Because I took this photo in #Oslo and as anyone who lives here will tell you, it is supposed to read, "I ❤️ sluts". What is the world coming to?

I met someone from the Fediverse that I have followed for years!! I am a big fan of all their work discussing climate change and energy usage. It was really nice to talk about their work (and a bit about Vivaldi). Plus we had a nice chat about Bluey, and the advantages of social welfare for raising small kids in Norway. 🧒 Oh and of course I couldn't resist showing off one of my unicycles. And no, I am not going to tell you who yet. I am curious to see if anyone guesses first. 😜

So @sotolf reminded me of something I kind of love. The Japanese "30-hour system". Used in nightlife, broadcasting, and transport, the time extends the day past midnight to keep late-night events grouped with the same calendar day. So a club open from 11PM to 1AM might list its hours as 23:00–25:00. We should all adopt this! Sadly Wikipedia does not have a detailed page on this system in English but here is a little longer explanation: https://skdesu.com/en/30-hours-from/ #...

Ok a little pet peeve about Roman numerals on watches and clocks. I regularly read "smart" comments on watch related Reddit threads and watch reviews that state that dials on some watches are misprinting the 4 as IIII, rather than IV. Maybe this is some long running joke but in case it is not, let me point out that the people saying this are actually the ones who are wrong. The use of IIII is intentional. #TimeTrivia

My wife asked me to pick up some fancy hot dogs on the way home from work. Sadly I did not bring a bike lock. Should I risk leaving it outside for a few minutes unlocked? 🤔 #Tallbike #TallBikesArePractical
