Ok fedisourcing recipes I am looking for recipes meeting this set of overlapping requirements: * Vegan * No peppers/onion/garlic (FODMAP-adjacent issues) I think also no tomatoes? * No rich/creamy textured I'll be visiting some friends and it is super hard to figure out what to cook, given the overlapping requirements that we have I often end up cooking something myself because basically every vegan recipe I know is primarily made with tomatoes/onion/peppers/garlic #recipes #cooking #...

Whelp The jellyfin sso plugin is archived, and the jellyfin devs fear they need every single app to support it and say nah (they don't need to when quick connect exists)

Current Mikrotik home firewall strategy: * Add log rules to the end of firewall chains * Stream logs and parse via script (pending: grafana dashboard). The script shows all packets that hit the log rules before the default-allow at the end * add rules to cover excisting traffic (or fix shit if broken or sending unwanted packets) * Optimize * After a sufficient time period of no log rule hits, change the log rules to default-drop bonus round: move as much traffic from ipv4 to ipv6. The majority...

A blog series on my descent into maddness with PKI/etc would probably be interesting But first I can finish out the networking series (latest post here). The last part for now will be about taking the engress policy features and wireguard and then creating a wireguard interface on a Talos linux node, and then assigning routing rules to a non-default table, so only traffic assigned to that interface uses it. The end result: ability to create a egress policy targeting a pod, and send all outbo...

I can't sleep for some reason Anyhow given the three main types of fun, can we also categorize mistakes into three core types of mistakes? I also propose that the find-out component of a fuck-around -> find-out tuple can be be mapped onto types of mistakes, in this thesis I will......

Ok I'm really interested in the manifest-based MutatingAdmissionPolicies in Kubernetes 1.36. It looks like one of the most important features of tools like Kyvero/IPAGatekeeper is just a mainline feature now? Neat! The goal is to enforce a few specific security policies that aren't very well covered by existing helm charts, like setting hostUsers: false unless explicitly set to true by a workload that actually needs it for driver or metrics collection. Using the new built-in policy eng...

Uggh, the home assistant MQTT cert expired despite cert-manager renewing it... Why? Because home assistant doesn't accept point to MQTT certs on disk. You're supposed to paste the certs into the UI when configuring MQTT and I guess just repeat that task as a fun little chore if certs have a shorter lifespan, neat. The actually had the reasonable functionality in the past where the config pointed to a path on disk but intentionally made that a regression at some point. I say intenti...
