so, do you know of messengers that do not require you to own a smartphone but let you talk to people who do? I know of jabber/xmpp (not very normie-friendly). I wish, @signalapp would support accounts that are not bound to a phone number. then again, I also wish things were way more decentralized in general. what about @delta chat? as far as I know that one just uses email? the point is: I&#39;m getting wary about the ubiquity of opaque computing devices and their services. how not to be a...

I&#39;ve finished reading &quot;project hail mary&quot;, and I think it&#39;s fine. it was fun to read. not sure if I want to watch the movie. it seems obnoxious. the book is, too, tbh. but movies do the obnox more intensely.

I&#39;m trying out a two-monitor setup. I always though it looked cool but was pretty useless, but recently I figured out a usecase for me. luckily I&#39;m one of those computer hoarders and had an old monitor just collecting dust. old as in &quot;1280x1024 from 2004&quot;. works really nice in portrait mode in addition to a 4k monitor. also, to set off the coolness factor, I&#39;m running calendar and to-do list on the old screen.

I think I&#39;ll take a break from posting art on here. I&#39;ve not posted much since last may or so, and I&#39;m curious if I&#39;ll start drawing more again when I&#39;m free from the pressure I&#39;m applying to myself because of the whole favs-and-boosts fuled narcissistic dynamic. most of the time when I see photos or videos of myself, I cringe, because that perspective clashes so much with how I see myself. or want to see myself. and everytime after that I feel gross for a while. hmpf.
