@Morning1 Yes, particularly for the larger, well-known instances like mastodon.social. This is based on personal experience of seeing web logs showing AI crawlers hitting individual posts and profiles on an instance I once managed infrastructure for. I’d recommend a mask for a selfie profile pic if you’re concerned but want to keep the profile relatively personal to you.

I do not advocate cyber bullying. Unless it’s done to the richest man on earth who has spent the last few years and tens of billions of dollars on setting up a platform specifically tailored to cyber bullies, including himself.

@JugglingWithEggs There is some controversy from growing misinformation in the US as well. It’s becoming a more common refrain to hear that heat pumps will “stop heating and blow cold air when it gets below 40F outside” (4C). I’ve even heard this from an HVAC contractor. Big Oil is on the offensive.
