<p>Hi! I'm a nerdy library worker. I love many kinds of storytelling, including videogames and TTRPGs. I'm trying to photograph all the birds in this city with limited success. I have successfully installed Linux on a computer. Science is cool and capitalism ruins everything. Trains and busses are cool. If there's a fire in the theater tonight, the exits are to the left. 🚨 Let&#39;s try some activism on fedi! The Tigard Public Library needs your help! CoT slashed the library budget, including cutting vital social services. But voters killed the new new Police / Public Works building they wanted to build, so now there are unallocated funds. There&#39;s community organizing and a petition to demand that CoT restore library services with that money. Sorry if I was awkward, but that was a fun meetup! Now I have to figure out how to explain to my “normal” friends where I was today. “So there’s this non-corporate decentralized social media site—not just one site, kinda like email, but never mind—lots of queer anarchists who use Linux. We post pictures of our cats every Saturday (we call it caturday).”

I&#39;ve got another picture book for y&#39;all! This one is a lovely exploration of families with a non-binary parent (and some bonus pages of explanation and resources in the back of the book). 🏳️🌈 It&#39;s a good day to post this one I guess, but I didn&#39;t plan that. Two #librarians realized shortly before storytime that one of the books they had chosen needed a third character, so they invited me to be a cow! I-5 did a lift while I was near it today. It was so peaceful once the traffic stopped! I could hear birds singing! 🐦 🎵 🐦⬛ Cities aren&#39;t loud. Cars are loud. Honestly, they should just leave the bridge up all the time! They can close it for twenty minutes each day in case anyone wants across. *ducks for cover*

A friend’s toddler pulled this book off a shelf and handed it to me, so of course I’m reading this one today. Some callings cannot be refused. This is a picture book and having and raising children. Normally, I love that my toaster oven has a mechanical timer that goes tick tick tick tick while it&#39;s running. I wish more things were like that. I&#39;m annoyed at how high-tech my conventional oven is. I really miss the simpler oven from my childhood home. However, I forgot to plug the toaster oven back in after cleaning it earlier today, and it just took me ten minutes to notice it wasn&#39;t actually getting hot. So 🤦
