Started idly researching Hunt The Wumpus and ended up in some truly fantastic spaces. "LSD became his ally. It was during an acid session that he received his shamanic initiation, lasered into him, across space and time, from a place deep in the Amazon. That's when he took his shamanic name, Hara Ra." Buckle up: https://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/dsp.cgi?msg=29879

Noticing that Krita remains free, but also sells packaged versions on various app stores for about $10 that goes towards supporting development. Dare I say I... like this model? It makes it easy to support dev, and the program remains free for those who can't/won't support it.

Imagine-- and I know this is a big ask-- imagine a world where you saw a link on a web page and could click on it immediately, secure in the knowledge that the page would not update or rerender itself between the decision and the click, and you would actually click on the link intended

I think a lot of the hostility towards AI boils down to: we wanted fully automated luxury communism, and we got fully automated luxury capitalism instead

Social media blurs conversational context in a way that some people aren't set up to handle. In life, if I ask a question in a group setting, it's completely normal for anyone to take a stab at answering it, even if they don't have any particular insight. If I ask the same question on the internet, I'm asking for expert assistance. "Reply guys" are people applying IRL social context to online social context
