@freebliss @blainsmith rss is widely used by journalist and researcher has a way to have neutral feeds. It's also a way to link a big diversity of apps to the fediverse, without having to implement the ActivityPub protocol. It gives access to a wide variety of content anywhere on the web. For me me, it's a very important protocol.

@freebliss Hopefully #funkwhale will support music rss feed soon and we will be able to listen to any #faircamp artist on the fediverse o/ Would be nice to use guid to pass mbid data. We spoke of this with #ampache dev here : https://github.com/ampache/ampache/issues/4144#issuecomment-2756031408

@y6nH @funkwhale this is more complicated to implement (new endpoint, new front components to manage user follow). Also users probably don't want to review this everytime so it would require three options : - share - don't - manual If the user want to manually share he can always use the playlist sharing mechanism instead ? Trying to decrease the work load here but if it's really needed we can open an issue and work on this proposition.

@funkwhale why not use the new privacy management and add the followers option ? this way users can choose the privacy level for each track individually : https://social.funkwhale.audio/@funkwhale/114704188939322497
