@freebliss @blainsmith rss is widely used by journalist and researcher has a way to have neutral feeds. It's also a way to link a big diversity of apps to the fediverse, without having to implement the ActivityPub protocol. It gives access to a wide variety of content anywhere on the web. For me me, it's a very important protocol.
