    tomorrow is our 10th anniversary (can you believe it!?!) and we are headed to grand rapids (!) on our second honeymoon! here we are in our wedding togs ten years ago. (I shoulda tucked in my shirt, and maybe even considered a tie. #alas)

    i haven&#39;t wielded a soldering iron in anger for decades¹ but the frayed wire on the multimeter probe² finally gave way and i had to unscrew the barrel connector and apply heat and tin. it went really well! ¹ my first job out of college was electronic test technician at ann arbor terminals. picture me with a soldering iron in one hand, a heat gun in the other hand, and a solder sucker in the gripping hand. ² that i ahem borrowed from bell labs. i apologize truly for my youthful indiscretio...

    after almost four years of french instruction (on duolingo), i can usually comprendre macron&amp;#39;s twitter posts, and can mostly read le monde haltingly tbh, still, i&amp;#39;m pleased -- i (literally) flunked french in high school (drugs were way more interesting in the 60s ... way way more) and i abjured foreign language study in college choices but i wish i could &amp;quot;hear&amp;quot; french better. need to work on that.
