This way of #printing #homemade #pcb s with the #3Dprinter is very fiddly and unreliable. And also time consuming... I should really try using the #tonertransfer method, but last time I tried I obtained very bad results... #electronics #electronic #circuit #ferricchloride #etching

Wife noticed the #cat 's #water #fountain upstairs was empty again this morning. It's not the first time, and this must be fixed, so I'm trying to sketch up a quick&dirty water #level #sensor to monitor with #homeassistant ... The idea is to print it (in #petg for water resistance), place a #cherrymx #switch in the upper compartment and sink it in hot glue to avoid water messing with the switch. Then I'll connect it to _something_ (probably an #ESP32 or #E...

I finally hung the #repair #manifesto from #ifixit they gave me at #hackadayeurope! Very few space on the walls around the electronics lab, so I had to cut it a little...

When I was at #hackadayeurope 2026 I received my #communicator #badge with a #3Dprinted back cover. I'd like to modify and re-print it, but it seems the 3D model is not available in the #git repo: https://github.com/Hack-a-Day/2025-Communicator_Badge Does anyone have a clue on where to find the 3D model or at least the STL?

It's been a while since I took the #train the last time. Where I live is usually convenient to move by bus, lower price and more frequent... Anyway, here we go! First stop: #Florence! #trenitalia #italiantrains #trains #railway

I just discovered that to resign in #Italy, if you've got young children, you must attend to an interview with an italian #work agency (called Ispettorato Nazionale del Lavoro)... on #MicrosoftTeams . WTF?!? How, exactly, a relationshib between an #italian #citizen and an italian agency is mediated by a #multinational company tied to the most powerful government in the world? Also, one that didn't prove very savy, lately... Sources: https://www.ispettorato.gov.it/servizio/convalida-di-d...

This week end I'll be at #hackadayeurope . What should I pack? My laptop, of course, and then? Multimeter, breadboards, a couple of MCU? Should I bring the soldering iron? Any project to show? I'm traveling by motorcycle, so I can bring more than on a plane, but not a lot... #hackaday @hackaday #electronics #convention

Reparing the Fabula. The speaker and battery cables were broken at the soldering point. No idea why. Also, it isn't the first time it happens. They are common Dupont cables cut and soldered (because I need the connector on the other end). They shouldn't be subject to mechanic stress, it seems more like a chimical/oxidation problem... but I have no clue at all... #electronics #repair #workbench #lab #soldering #opensourcehardware

I have been at the #powerglitching workshop today at #hackadaeurope ! Pretty advanced topic, I feared I was not up to the topic, but the teacher was reasonably good at explaining and prepared a very convenient testbench in the form of a (very cool) PCB with two #MCU: one is the target (the one to glitch) and the other is the one that controls the power supply to the first one via a #mosfet.

I'm sorting some #electronic #components and found these. I'm not sure what they are, they seem very ancient. Nothing written on them, but they are color-coded (like modern resistors). Anyone has a clue?
