  Watanabe’s Samurai Champloo is a very worthy successor to Cowboy Bebop. Lots of bluster, great music, engaging story, and funny as hell.

  Went to my yin yoga class in spite of not getting enough sleep. Somehow I still feel a lot of benefits from it. My body always feels more balanced.

  I just watched the Enterprise episode “Similtude” wherein a symbiant clone of commander Tucker (with only a 15 day lifespan) is created in order to save his life. The clone (Sim) develops from infant to adult in about 5 days, and shares all of Tucker’s memories of his life at each effective age. It’s a very ethically challenging story, clearly inspired by Blade Runner but unique in its own ways. We only had to wait 3 seasons for the kiss that removed all doubt.   Just watched the series finale of Star Trek Enterprise which first aired in 2005. Like many others before me, I found the episode unsatisfying and very unfair to its heroic characters. It comes across as a slap in the face of the show’s fan base. A lot of people loved the show, but the writing was often hit or miss, and the final episode had a lot of misses.   Watching the ATV documentary about an alleged Tantric cult in Europe. I wish they’d called it “Twisted Tantra” because (a) it’s more alliterative, and (b) the name they used gives Yoga a bad name, which is undeserved. Tantric practices seem highly prone to the whole abusive guru cult leader pattern that seems to be repeated over and over in our world. When a guru asks you to send bikini photos to apply for training, beware, sounds like a cult.
