    Sitting here, ruminating on the 4th... Next month will mark 5 years since #Starbucks baristas began organizing for fair treatment. It has been a long fight and is still ongoing, even with over 12k union member baristas (so far!) across more than 700 #SBUX store locations (so far!). Attached is what they are asking for[1], seemingly reasonable+doable for a company that had a yearly net revenue over $37B (yes, that's a B) for their last fiscal year[2].     Over the decades, my hope has dwindled that most of the video content (movies, TV) creators/distributors will ever "come around" to the idea of selling DRM-free digital downloads to consumers the way that many record labels/distributors eventually did for albums and songs. I still buy physical video media (mostly DVD, Blu-ray) and rip it for my personal use, but I fear the days of that physical media are numbered.     Apropos of nothing... 25 years since their last studio album was released, there's a new #ButtholeSurfers album out today ("After the Astronaut"), which ironically was recorded BEFORE that 2001 release. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/After_the_Astronaut Seeing the BHS back in the very early 90's was my first non-symphony concert, and WOW did it set a bar for what a concert could be. Neat to finally be experiencing this album as the band intended it to be heard. \m/
