I can't love her work and not respect her as a person, that feels wrong. Sure, she might have changed her mind if she was still with us now, but she's not here to do that, so respecting her original wish feels like the right call...

  I feel like spending time at MoMA and the Guggenheim recently has sharpened some of my thoughts on art and AI, and especially whether AI generated images are art or not. I've generally said that we make a mistake when we confuse the final artifact for the art, that the artifact is the /evidence/ of the art. The work of creation is the actual art. To skip from ideation to a final product is to eliminate art from the equation. You are left with... just a product. 1/

  I'm not much of a capital-A-Art connoisseur, but I've always sort of vaguely thought of Picasso as pretentious. I'm unsure where that opinion originated (probably osmosis), but spending two days around his work has completely dissuaded me of the notion. "Girl With a Mandolin" might be one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen, and that the same person painted "Le Moulin de la Galette" is just stunning. May all of our art grow...
