  In gardening news: I am still unhappy with the growth rate of anything in the raised beds. Tomatoes are coming in, but the plants themselves are weedy compared to the ones in the pots and grow bags. It's big fertilizing weekend, so that might help, but I think after 10 years, adding mushroom/home compost is not enough to amend the soil. They need more. (advice welcome!) #gardening

  This afternoon I'm rewatching Lars Von Trier's Breaking the Waves, which is one of my all time favorite films. I can't help but wonder if the same film, gender flipped to be about the government/war, would garner the same kind of criticism as this film does w/r/t misogyny and female suffering. #film
