There are people who can't even use Windows or OSX. The problem is that everyone thinks they're an expert, that's just how it is. Using #Linux takes at least a bit of effort, which people just aren't willing to put in anymore, and I'm afraid things are only going to get worse. That's why they hand you a #PC with Windows already installed and automated procedures. #AI will be the final nail in the coffin for the new generations. #opensource #OS 🤦 ht...

Did you know that with #SurfacePsycho you can create and use SubD models, convert them to #NURBS right inside #Blender, or export them as STEP and open them in a #CAD program for further tweaking? 😎 And that's not all; you can also jump into edit mode, merge the individual patches into larger chunks, and add a layer of Class A continuity. #Blender3d #b3d #FreeCAD

I don’t know how things are in other countries, but I have a feeling that lately there have been a lot of #murders in Italy, especially of #women. I hope it’s just an impression.

Anyway, I just want to make a quick point, if 5k people donate 50$ to the foundation each year, that’s 250k dollars (that’s just over$ 4 a month.). So we can do our part, and anyone who can should. As soon as I top up my prepaid card, I’ll make the donation, especially since I’m just wasting money on other stuff anyway. There are between 150,000 and 300,000 active professional users who rely on Blender as a stable work tool in their studios.🤯 #Anthropic #b3d #Blender #Blender3D

#AI can cost more than human workers now Quote: "Why it matters: Maybe human labor will be more cost-efficient after all. What they’re saying: “For my team, the cost of compute is far beyond the costs of the employees,” Bryan Catanzaro, vice president of applied deep learning at #Nvidia, told Axios." #LLM #b3d #Blender #Blender3d #artist #CGI #VFX https://www.axios.com/2026/04/26/ai-cost-human-workers

It’s seriously cool to have #NURBS working this well in #Blender. #SurfacePsycho is still alpha, fingers crossed the Blender team steps in to help out. #b3d #CAD

Long live! Today 1 US #dollar is equivalent to about 0.85 euros... This week I'm buying something from the United States..😅 😏 #Euro #Trump #USA

Romain is continuing his fantastic work all by himself. The more I follow this #NURBS modeling project created with Blender's geometric nodes, the more amazed I am; I must find a way to make a small financial contribution as well. #b3d #classA #CAD #blender3d #Blender #SurfacePsycho

For a hobbyist who uses #opensource #software, it is difficult to decide which software to support. The list keeps growing longer because there are many things that require our support, and it is not only free software that needs our support, other elements have also entered this scope. #community #FOSS🫠

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Isn't that Microsoft's purpose? Wherever Microsoft is, there is a crime.

These surfaces were both made with boundary curves. One was created in #b3d using #SurfacePsycho, the other in #FreeCAD with the Curves workbench using a Gordon surface. The #Blender one is simpler and matches the input curves perfectly, while the other has CVs high density #CAD Keep it simple... EDIT: But if you use the FreeCAD Surface Workbench is the same as in Blender.

Todd C. Miller has been maintaining the #sudo codebase for over 30 years. This is exactly one of those cases where an entire critical infrastructure is held together by the work of a single volunteer who apparently can’t find anyone willing to sponsor him for some financial support. #opensource #linux #foss #GNU
