  St. Louis Urbanists held our second ever bench top painting event. Turnout was huge, and we painted 40 bench tops. Next month we will assemble them and deploy them to city bus stops, joining the ~60 existing benches we've put up. Providing safe, comfortable seating for our community should be the city's job.   I'm really enjoying Esoteric Ebb even tho I fell off Disc Elysium. The setting helps a lot. For those unaware, Esoteric Ebb is very much the same mechanics as Disco but with D&D trappings.   Timberborn hit 1.0 recently. It's definitely my favorite colony builder in a while. The vertical building is refreshing, as are the drought and badwater mechanics. The aesthetic is playful and hopeful too. Almost solarpunk adjacent. Definitely worth checking out.

  My personal conspiracy theory is that nobody actually uses the feature in google maps to report things like speed traps and lane closures, they're just collecting enough data to predict those things and the buttons are there for plausible deniability.

  Got my glasses prescription updated and debating options. I work in a place with fluorescent light most of the day. I'm fairly photosensitive and have frequent headaches and occasional migraines. I've had two pairs of transitions, convenient but neither as good as sunglasses of course. So options I'm looking at are new transitions (maybe Xtractive?).   One thing that I feel like is at risk of being lost in discussion of the murder of Renee Nicole Brown is that citizens of a democracy, a real functional democracy, have a right to be angry and loud and belligerent at authority figures on the street.   Something I struggle with is finding a good source of on-the-ground news that isn't reddit/social media. Like for the murder of Alex Pretti, NYT and AP were very slow to give the real story, well after video was readily available. At the same time, using reddit to get that up-to-date info also gave my brain an excuse to just mindlessly browse reddit. Curious how other people balance this.

  This is a cold-hot take but my partner and I have been trying to play through Baldur's Gate 3 as a coop campaign and we both just kind of wish it was Divinity Original Sin 2. Personally not a big fan of the DnD mechanics, and both of us feel that DOS2 integrated 2 players substantially better. Wonder if anyone feels the same/differently.
