Something I struggle with is finding a good source of on-the-ground news that isn't reddit/social media. Like for the murder of Alex Pretti, NYT and AP were very slow to give the real story, well after video was readily available. At the same time, using reddit to get that up-to-date info also gave my brain an excuse to just mindlessly browse reddit. Curious how other people balance this.
