@mayintoronto Not new—they&#39;re called &quot;advertorials&quot;. Personally I dislike them because I find the format deceptive. On the other hand, there are plenty of lazy news articles that are basically just regurgitated press releases.

@mayintoronto Ehh, I think it&#39;s useful to make a distinction between advertorials, crap articles by rushed reporters who don&#39;t have time to do proper research, crap opinion columns, biased but more or less accurate reporting, guest op-eds by people with potentially undisclosed agendas, statements from the editorial board, etc.
