In Morro Bay, on vacation, took a morning walk while family slept in. Peeked in Dolly's Donuts. "No bathroom for customers? But you sell coffee! That's just wrong." Wandering back, stopped in the thrift store, "The Good Flea", found 1980s HP-12C calculator for $1. Needs batteries. Whatever is modern equiv of LR44? "Oh, you can get those at Radio Shack! Why, yes, we still have one, up on Quintana." So that's where I went next. #thifting

Driving, under gray sky, gray gray gray, thinking... What if previous surges of public stupidity were #InformationWarfare probing attacks? Inputs would be manipulations, disinformation, messaging. Outputs would be changes in behavior, consequences, words repeated. Injecting taggants into information streams enables tracking info flow. A misspelling. Particular image. Instrumented information environment would give view of each individual. Web and adtech would be key to monitoring.

Repeaters kept answering, saying "Yeah, we see you." Bouncy-bouncy, from the Coast to the Central V...

In the yard, poking up, some white clover we planted last year, still alive and now blooming. Persistence. Quiet strength. Friend of bees. Able to crack the ferociously strong triple bond of atmospheric nitrogen, with a little help from its symbiotic bacterial friends! Imagine that! May we have such strength. #garden #clover

3 years back, teacher acquaintance said to me, "School district IT won't support old classroom laptops, so they are all going to e-waste. Trash! Want one?" Brought wagon, filled it, and I took them all. Sorted, tested, labeled, figured out which still worked, stored them. Now, younger childbeast tells me, "My friends are tired of Windows, and want to learn Linux. Can we set them up?" So, loading laptops last night, getting them ready for new ho...

Out mowing the yard, I saw a guy go past, slow, turn his motorcycle around, come back. He stopped, asked if it was our bookbox by the sidewalk. "Hope so, it's in our yard. Yes." "I got a book out of there, and OMG, I couldn't put it down! It was 'Red Notice', by Bill Browder." "I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's good." I went inside, found a related book, "Red Mafia", brought...
