  a fandom observation when i was a teen, if you were into the beatles like me, it's because you enjoyed the music first, like that was the hook, which would then grow into learning & appreciating all the other things we know & love about them. these days on tumblr i notice more & more fans showing up **without having listened** to any Beatles music, asking what the band & fandom are about as if they're deciding whether to join. asking where to start listening, like which...

  geeeeez i need to follow more people, like regular normal people, who post about their unique lives, griefs & pleasures whenever i try, i mostly end up finding large accounts who post all day & never reply back, or only reply/boost to dunk (propaganda has become so fucking boring) who's posting about switching to diet coke, or a funny sign they saw on the way to work, or a genuine shower thought, or a new thing they're into... if that's you, hmu? more moots more fun? 🤠

  sam and i got one of them newfangled beverage carbonating machines (not a soda stream but similar) on account of me being sick and tired of opening new sodas, only to find them flat! he just made lemonade and pumped some bubbles in, now it tastes like minute maid 😀 take that, ya international soda conglomorates!!!

  i made the mistake of pre-ordering ‘monica’ by jack harlow and wmg made the mistake of sending it to me without its booklet inside and i made the mistake of reaching out to customer service for help, getting a support ticket started, and following up on that ticket and they made the mistake of calling me ‘jack’ in their latest response i i’m so tired do i just do a chargeback now or

  never once in my time on mastodon has me asking an account for alt text resulted in that account responding that they will do it it’s always, always no and i’ve asked multiple accounts, from popular web comics to niche posters always no, maybe followed by a long justification as to why it’s not worth doing just in case you’re wondering why alt text people sound angry i’m sighted and it’s already gotten so old and predictable
