• The sorry state of plain text marketing emails

  Thanks for the e-mail, Xero. Xero  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ This is hardly the worst example of e-mails sent in plain text that are not actually plain text. The worst offender is Meetup.com, which literally copies the HTML into the plain text section, so all my e-mails from them are displayed as utter garbage.

• TIL: Grilled Cheese on the Foreman Grill

  I realized I could make a grilled cheese like a panini press on my Foreman grill. How did I never think of that? I made tomato soup last night, and so tonight I’m going to have tomato soup with a grilled cheese. Maybe throw in an avocado into that grilled cheese because I have one remaining.

• qoto.org bad/spam actors

  It seems like some bad/spam actors are spamming requests pretending (?) to be actors from qoto.org (redirects to social.cleverlibre.org) all from various different IP addresses. Luckily that instance is offline (?) so none of the spam is getting through to me because I can’t look up the actors, but it does mean my site is making requests denied by 406 and some 403 denied with a HTML response. I set an instance block on qoto.org for now to prevent any more additional lookups.

  I think I am going to try a cooking challenge this week: Revisit a simple meal that I used to cook when I was first starting out in life using the same or similar ingredients. • Furikake and Sesame bagels baked for a bit longer

  I baked them for about 22 minutes this time, and that resulted in a better color. I made more furikake bagels this time since it tasted alright last time. Anyways, bagels for lunch this week. @cooking

  Note to self, docker cli 29.4.0 doesn’t build with the latest docker 29.4.0, you need 29.3.1. Ugh.
