We have to talk about #BaywatchNights. The first episode isn't half bad, with the deception theme and a prototypical femme fatale. It delivers on thrills and mystery. Just wish the other two detectives would have more relevant roles. Thread continues.

What happens when someone doesn't just try to copy an arcade hit, but thinks how something similar could make sense in a home computer environment? You get #Druid! https://www.goodolddays.net/en/game/Druid/ #Firebird #C64 #RetroGaming

#WildPalms, episode 1. #KimCattrall says to #JamesBelushi: "Harry, this is William Gibson." I'm thinking, that's a funny choice for a character name in a series about virtual reality. Who walks up? The actual #WilliamGibson! Making a cameo as himself.

Before Betrayal at Krondor, #Dynamix was already dungeon crawling. #SwordOfKadash mashes up Rogue, Wizardry and Gauntlet into 256 hand-crafted screens of real-time, trap-filled brutality. It's not fair, it's not gentle, but it might be the most atmospheric 8-bit crawl you've never played. Save states recommended. Imagination required. https://www.goodolddays.net/en/game/Sword-of-Kadash/ #C64 #AppleII

Forced Weddings – Monkey Island and King's Quest VI As a companion to the recent treatment of Prince Alexander's grand quest for love, here is a narrative analysis of its ending, compared to a contemporary game using similar motifs: https://www.goodolddays.net/en/article/Forced-Weddings-Monkey-Island-and-Kings-Quest-VI/ #KingsQuestVI #MonkeyIsland

It's the best #KingsQuest ever made -- and that's the problem. Professional voice acting ✓ Lip-synced animations ✓ CD-ROM production values ✓ ...and yet the finale devolves into pixel-hunting death traps. Why #KingsQuestVI's polish couldn't fix its conservative soul. https://www.goodolddays.net/en/game/Kings-Quest-VI-Heir-Today-Gone-Tomorrow/ #DOSGaming #SierraOnLine #GirlInTheTower
