#today I walked and wrote and did things. Now I need to do more things. First stop is coffee at Noi Cafe. It’s downtown where I can sit and watch a little bit of Siem reap go by. Down the street is the land of cheap draft beer in many parts. I’ve realized I need that land. So I will go ahead investigate it all. First off is coffee. I don’t know why. It’s just how I do things. Next is cheap beer land. Likely at viva 2 where I often go and sit. There is pub street. I could go there. Nah. Maybe a s...

#today it rains. Started beautiful out. Nice walk and coffee out. Decided to go for some adult beverages downtown. It’s green season. Or rainy season. I’ll take the latter. Easy to watch with a cold cheap craft beer. Entertainment for $0.75. Worth the price.

One day in Banteay Srei temple. I love wandering that temple. It has this beauty and the carvings so intricate and complex. My wife first demurred from walking. Until she saw how beautiful it was when we got there. The sun and clouds. The green season where rice fields and forests grew wild and had this green glow. Driving down dirt roads in a tuktuk. The driver stopping for chickens crossing the road. Finally my wife just being there and admitting it was a day to behold. Thanks #cambodia. You...

#today the joy of a warm almond croissant. A Khmer person was telling me his breakfast choices. I told him about some American breakfasts. I miss the hashed browns and eggs and bacon at Black Bear Diner. Used to go every so often or more frequently. Can get some of the food here. Closest I’ve found is in Hanoi at S&L Diner by the old quarter. Owned by an American. Nice memories. I’ll have to show my wife a YouTube video of hashed browns. She got very good at fried potatoes with chili, mush...

#today is a rainy and cool day. Nice for a walk down to The Street coffee. Rainy season rarely means day after day of rain. Lately though we have been getting more. Don’t mind. The Khmer people I think love the rain. Most just take it all in stride. Best way to get an idea if it’s gonna rain is watch Khmer people. They just know.

Another app I must try. The journaling journey is never done. Either with the words and thoughts or an app to try that does local files in markdown. I’ll get home and try this out on my MacBook. https://www.glaze.app/app/daymark-MX1yNN

Wow! In one day I learned I had won millions of dollars. Some person was wanting me to participate in a new startup, and my cloud storage was shutdown because I hadn’t paid. It’s been a challenging, worthwhile, and frustrating day #Today

#today a walk and a street. Coffee that is. Street Coffee is almost new to me. It’s a quiet place mostly. People stop on motos to get their fix. The baristas efficient. All open air and delightful. Also time to just find some words that wanna be next to each other.

#today is another beautiful morning. Sitting at a favored spot. កស្សិណ កាហ្វេ Is a go to spot. It means coffee bean which is fitting. From here I can watch people. Kids wave. To go orders go. This one table always sits right where I can do the best job at watching Siem Reap zoom by. The people are very nice. They know the order now so I just sit. And watch. And the road roads and people people. #siemreap #cambodia

#today was beautiful in this kingdom of wonder. #cambodia created a beautiful sunny day. Now the rain clouds give way to blue skies. Sitting with a certain cheap beverage on this day seems appropriate. So I do it. There’s the chair at viva I claim. The view of this small part of a city always inventing itself but knowing us barang want the beer. Bring it on. Sunday means whatever. I’ll take another draft beer.

Later that same day. I went to viva bar. Met my friend Bill. An American. Living here 15 years. We talk. He tells me his life stories. I listen. And drink. Then he goes. I drink more. The stories come. People go. I order more beer in Khmer and tease the waitress. Now the table is for one. I can tell myself stories. Sometimes the expats arrive. They all will do their things. I do my thing. We are some worlds apart. Thankfully. Yes. Another beer. And more thoughts.
