  I just had "the talk" with my 9yo. He came to me asking "Dad, why does AI use so much water just for generating one answer?" So I explained to him how LLM works, how GenAI came out of that and why AI is a marketing term and absolutely wrong in that context. Then I loaded GPT4All on my laptop and asked the thing what the result of 9+7 is.   Ich hab ja eine Kollegin, die mich immer wieder um rat fragt. Der geb ich auch gerne Betreutes Adminsitrieren, wo ich ihr dann Kommandos in die bash shell diktiere. Das Problem ist: Sie ist so super unsicher, dass sie sich bei jeden Handschlag drei-viermal versichert, ob sie auch wirklich jetzt lsmod ausführen soll. Und wenn man dann 10min auf den output wartet, kommt dann "Ok, ich führ dann jetzt lsmod aus?" Und es urrrgh strengt an.

  Kids are in bed, I just ran the Tr8s and the T-8 for half an hour on the balcony in the dark. It felt good but I need a bit of light for the T-8 at least to find unlit controls. But I still got it. Learned a nifty new work flow, too.

  After a longer break I gave the song a listen with fresh ears for mixing finetuning and maybe some last minute adjustments, filter swipes, etc. You know what? Fuck this, this shit slaps hard! I MIGHT tweak the rumble level a bit but the rest stays exactly as it is right now!

  I needed tonight. I went to a punk show. It was as I expected it to be, very Antifa, very fuck Nazis, very heartly and very loud. The first time I listened to WiZo was in 1994 when I was a teenager. Tonight, as an old, grown-up, I saw them live for the first time. We had elections last weekend and 30% of our village voted for right-conservatives. Another 20% voted for open Nazis. And fuck I needed an evening full of anarchy.

  It's insomnia 3am again. Okay, it's 3:31 now but I woke up half an hour ago, as it is tradition.   @CalcProgrammer1@mastodon.social Fluxer uses Livekit as voice/video backend, which works well (at least in my Foundry stack for TTRPGs). There is an option to self-host it but they want to further improve it when their code refactoring is done. They also plan a federation option between selfhosted instances.   Today is a bad day. I mean it was okay until I suddenly saw a picture of Kurt and remembered how he was, how he suddenly died and how I was grieving about him. Until I started to forget. Everything came back and washed me away for some time. It got better, then it went bad again. Love leaves a mark on you and death leaves a hole. On top of that: ADHD makes you feel shit on 250% intensity. So easy to loose yourself.
