@cda@social.sporiff.dev Good luck! It'll be for the better in the long run. I've been shaving yak for about two weeks now. Partly in anticipation of the openpodcastapi. 😉 At least episode syncs are 100 times faster with fodder now. And there's now the beginnings of an architecture for other sync protocols.

@sotolf@polymaths.social That sounds annoying indeed. I have the impression that there are hardly any usb-based docks that don't have such niche issues. And indeed, a lot of the stuff that needs to go through the usb cable needs extra hardware on the docking side to "restore" the original signal, introducing a whole new class of potential issues. I think in the old docking stations, the connectors simply carried the original (hdmi, dvi) signals through a custom connector. Much si...

@sotolf@polymaths.social Such USB docking stations are mostly using displaylink for the graphical display. Wait until you start noticing display lag issues. :p I guess you are using this on the work laptop with windows, in which case it's probably fine. But on linux the delay (mainly on mouse cursor movements) is simply unbearable. Well, I guess this is called progress...

@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net Chiming in: I regularly have periods of several weeks that I'm not touching my project(s) due to life happening and/or mental capacity. Ultimately, it will depend on the size of the project. A big project that has been handling a ton of other PRs while leaving yours open with no response, is quite a different situation. In any case I would leave the PR open for at least one or two months.
