@sotolf@polymaths.social That sounds annoying indeed. I have the impression that there are hardly any usb-based docks that don't have such niche issues. And indeed, a lot of the stuff that needs to go through the usb cable needs extra hardware on the docking side to "restore" the original signal, introducing a whole new class of potential issues. I think in the old docking stations, the connectors simply carried the original (hdmi, dvi) signals through a custom connector. Much simpler and much less things that can go wrong. But of course those were tied into the particular laptop vendor.
