I recently learned about CLODO - Committee for the Liquidation and Subversion of Computers - a French anarchist group active in the 80's. They are worth reading up about: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/memory-loss-collected-communiques-from-clodo

A longshot - I sometimes split some SEO work with a great freelance SEO who is based in Gaza. As you can imagine, life has not been easy for her (her name is Ghalia). I don't say this to promote myself - but if anyone wants SEO, website or even social media help, Ghalia can help, and I'm happy to assist as a form of go-between (eg I listen to your needs, and then relay to her). And she gets 100% of the fee you pay. (also happy to share her contact details if anyone wants to g...

I think some people enjoy being contrarian (especially on social media!) - I can't say I do but I don't mind having an alternative opinion :) I wrote this recently - how AI movements hijack outrage and funnel it in the wrong direction, often for political motives... I may update this piece later but for now I wanted to get some thoughts down on paper (or screen?) https://www.notobigtech.org/en/posts/2026-07-24-how-ai-movements-like-quitgpt-hijack-public-outrage-around-ai-and-...

A slightly "unhinged" looking comment I might have left, when responding to someone who is (fairly, IMO) calling me out on my blog. I openly admit to hypocritical, paradoxical behaviours. I am a search marketer (!) and I am very openly anti-capitalist (!!). What bigger opposite could you have?? I don't hide away from any of this. I do this work because it pays the bills and I have figured a way to work with clients that are (more) aligned with my values, as best as p...

People are probably tired of me saying this - but capitalism is to blame for the current wildfires, on multiple levels: - Native woodlands are cut down, flammable non-natives like Eucalyptus are planted - high in oil and a quick cash crop for land owners ๐Ÿค‘ - Climate change strongly tied to capitalist (human) activities โœˆ๏ธ - People leave the countryside and migrate to cities to find work - leaving vast wild land vulnerable (no-one to raise the alarm, no human fire-prevention in place) ๐Ÿ‘ท

RE: https://mastodon.social/@floridamarx/116997006065223850 These are the people I want to find and support - because they speak to the truth - regardless of how uncomfortable it is to hear. How many times will we see the C word in the context of these wildfires as reported by news outlets around the world? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Unpopular opinion? Cloudflare is part of the Big Tech machine and is used as a form of surveillance for imperialist actors across much of the web, hiding under the pretence of providing "security". Agree? Disagree? Don't know/don't care? ๐Ÿค”

Speaking with a friend at the weekend and he told me he lost his job on Friday - directly replaced by AI (he worked in an office, doing logistics). What is worse (or interesting); his partner still defends AI as being "just a tool" and that it can still help us all in our day-to-day lives. And I mean.... your partner has just lost their job! And yet you still hold this position of protecting technology ๐Ÿ˜ฉ ๐Ÿ˜ฉ ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

RE: https://indieweb.social/@codebuzz/116572494979893634 Reminder that I am here to support anyone in the Fediverse willing to join forces to build a legit ethical alternative to Linkedin. I think there is a huge gap/need for such a platform. I am less sure how we fund it... but I hear (via others) that there are grants available for such projects.

Spent a nice few mins creating this earlier today - politicians and their favourite search engines. This was based on a lot of psychological profiling, as you can probably imagine...

Saw this on Reddit earlier - the irony being, Reddit is Big Tech and is also being manipulated by various parties to help form your view (2 down, 2 across). Op titled this "Twelve small stitched poem-objects I made." Lemmy is the best alternative to Reddit.

I do some bits with the IDN (International Degrowth Network) and I love this section. For me (for those in the sustainability space as well, or those who claim to care about inequality) - you are not a good person if you care about climate change and not global inequality. This is either through ignorance, arrogance, greed... or some other unknown, undesirable trait.

I did a talk with XR last week about fighting back against Big Tech - it was on YouTube but we've added it to TubeFree now. I enjoyed the chat - and am very lucky to have been invited on - but I still feel that to "de-Google" or similar is very much a privileged position to be in. Not everyone can do it... so we still need to think bigger. A few people de-googling won't be enough. Anyway - I learned a ton from Rania Youssef - as ever! She is brilliant :) h...

Legit SEO + PPC job I saw posted - we're "climate conscious" (and then later) we're AI first. I wonder if they'd love someone as curious as me, who will be happy to curiously ask them, how being AI first enables them to be climate conscious too? :) (of course they are a B Corp and everything else).

When you read a one star book review and it CONVINCES you to buy the book. "Extremely woke" = sold!!! (note I wouldn't dream of buying from Amazon... just doing some research) โœŠ

I honestly believe white supremacy is the underlying issue of our time, with capitalism sitting heavily upon this, driven by imperialism and white saviourism. I wanted to write about how some people (in this case Rutger Bregman and his School For Moral Ambition) I feel are nice examples of this in action. There's nothing new here - I am trying to amplify the work of smarter/braver people before me. Anyway - here it is - https://matttutt.me/the-problem-with-rutger-bregman-and-the-sc...

I have recently started an ambitious new project - fighting back against climate change & rising inequality by growing avocados at a local level! It might sound a *bit* mad... but this is the plan: - I am teaching people how to grow (and graft) avocados. - We create networks of local growers. - These growers then teach other people how to grow, and graft, avocados. - Growers will share cuttings with anybody who wants to start growing. (continued in next post...)

Random question - is anyone funding the anti-capitalist movement? Perhaps it is not labelled in such a blatant way (for fear of being detected) - but there must be some funding available for such movements, I am thinking funding for: - Degrowth movements - Ethical independent tech - Anti imperialist movements etc I know funding cuts are a thing (thanks to Trump and co) but - are there other options out there? Or - are people forced into using crowdfunding platforms?
