I am pleased/disappointed to report that my first choice of Count Binface t-shirt was out of stock on his merch store. Honestly I was just going to send him some money, but it's not an option on his website so a novelty t-shirt (second choice) works too. #ukpol #binface #Farage https://www.binfaceshop.co.uk/ Edit: I missed https://ko-fi.com/countbinface 🙈

You know it's a sprint stage when even the highlights show spends half its runtime telling you about interesting churches and local cheeses. #TdF

It just hit 30°, the day's still getting hotter, and we're heading out for an extended family picnic on the Recreation Ground in Stratford, which will be fucking rammed and have absolutely no shade. Nothing can possibly go wrong.

The cat just sat on the TV remote volume up button. She sat there getting ever more anxious about the increasing noise until she couldn't take it any more and bolted out of the room and the house.

With the greatest sadness I am forced to admit that I am, in fact, awake. Our team will be working round the clock to restore normal service at the earliest opportunity.

You know that scene in the Matrix where Neo tells Tank "I need guns. Lots of guns." And then he's surrounded by infinite shelves of guns. I need that, but with chocolate.

First mid week club ride in a while, joined the slow group as I knew it would be comfortable. With some trepidation I thought I recognised a lady who joined too who I vaguely recall was annoying. And oh my word, was she annoying. It's fair to say she's on the larger side so she's a bit slow on the hills. To be clear, absolutely nobody has a problem with this, especially in the slow group. But she's also a fucking half wheeler on the flat. It's not even as if she's inex...

Had a lovely conversation with a farmer last night for whom AI has always meant Artificial Insemination, and the AI revolution was when this became widely used for cows in the 1950s.

Just finished watching All Quiet on the Western Front. Holy shit, that hits hard. I can't imagine how it hit in 1930.

Trying to get some work done on the train travelling east in the morning. Train's not too busy so I have a choice seat. I can choose: * To be unable to see my screen because the sun is shining directly on it * To be unable to see anything at all because the sun is directly in my eyes.

I need to move off ingress-nginx because it's mothballed. I'm already using #Cilium for CNI, so I figured I'd switch to that. Yesterday was discovering that Cilium's gateway api implementation doesn't play nice with MetalLB. I figured that as Cilium BGP control plane can perform the same function, I might as well simplify a bit and replace MetalLB, so I did that this evening. Went pretty smoothly (except for a *weird* choice they made in their API wrt sele...

A man is trying to gain entry to a costume party. Bouncer: What are you dressed as? Man: A harp. Bouncer: But your costume is too small to be a harp. Man: Are you calling me a lyre? I'm so sorry. I stole it from my son. It's his fault. #DadJokes

Main game this evening was Between 2 Castles (picked at random; our most successful strategy). Really interesting dynamic. You're playing 2 boards at once, one with the player on each side of you. Your score is the lowest of each. So you're playing cooperatively, but also competitively. I really liked it. I had the highest scoring board on my right, and the lowest on my left, so I was joint last! #TableTopGames

I'm a pretty straightforward person. I try to say what I mean, and I'll take what I'm told at face value. If I'm impolite to you, it was almost certainly accidental. I don't plot or scheme, mostly because I'd be grossly inept at it. But perhaps I should practice.

Went to see the doc today with an uninteresting complaint I just needed somebody to check. Doc was outrageously nice. Extremely attentive, very polite, listened carefully, didn't judge and put me entirely at ease. It would be utterly impossible to dislike this guy. Bastard.

Code review summary: this PR introduces several new components, and each of them are unfixably wrong for their own separate reasons. My current challenge is to write this constructively.
