First mid week club ride in a while, joined the slow group as I knew it would be comfortable. With some trepidation I thought I recognised a lady who joined too who I vaguely recall was annoying. And oh my word, was she annoying. It's fair to say she's on the larger side so she's a bit slow on the hills. To be clear, absolutely nobody has a problem with this, especially in the slow group. But she's also a fucking half wheeler on the flat. It's not even as if she's inexperienced: she's been riding for years. And she's pretty strong. You're out on a social ride and approaching the bottom of a climb she'll ramp the pace up continuously until we're flat out, get 100m up the ramp, collapse and fly out the back. Then we have to wait 5 minutes for her at the top. It's fucking infuriating. I'm going to have to risk moving up a speed group just to avoid her.
