I'm unexpectedly impressed with the #Slate as I'm seeing it now be an actual thing in preview videos being released today. The freedom of choice that they're offering is a refreshing approach for the automotive industry that has traditionally wanted to lock you in to various options and design decisions. I put in a pre-order on a whim because it seems like a great vehicle for my kids that could take some beating and be left outside without much regret. #cars

Trying to restore from a #macOS #TimeMachine backup for my stolen work laptop that had 1TB disk to another laptop with 1TB disk. Buuuut the backup in Migration Assistant shows as 1.3TB. I think this is due to use of Apple&#39;s new &quot;container&quot; system that doesn&#39;t play well with TM backups. Unfortunately TM is always an afterthought and MA is always a slow, buggy mess even in the best circumstances. I hope I can get this thing restored before the long holiday weeke...

The dumbest #spam: a scammer created an open mailing list that probably has hundreds or thousands of people on it and sent a bunch of scammy Apple emails to it. Now there&#39;s a flurry of replies that you&#39;d expect of chain letters of old and no intelligence to be found. I&#39;m up to about 50 emails about this now, I&#39;ve made an rspam rule to denylist the rcpt to:. I&#39;m still surprised this doesn&#39;t happen more often. #homelab
