  The latest software update for my decade-old Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 scanner weighs in at ONE POINT ONE GIGABYTES. 🤯 Want a fresh install?   I get email notifications for local estate sales with the term "computer” with the hope of nabbing a fun or historic vintage Mac. Recently, though, it led me to an auction for a bunch of aviation equipment from a "USAF veteran and pioneering NASA technician.” Just look at all those dials and switches and meters and whatnot!   By weird mathematical coincidence, John Ternus and Apple Inc. are both currently 50 years old. Given that Ternus joined the company in 2001, he's been there for half of *both* of their lives. (Ternus apparently turns 51 next month, whereas Apple marked its 50th a few weeks ago, so the math ain't perfect… but still!)
