  I think the biggest hurdle for the post-american post-monoculture corporate internet is: monoculture- & analytics-fetish Decentralized alternatives (fediverse) are pushing back on this; great for individuals, not businesses. It also explains the EU's love/hate relationship with the silicon valley-stack.

  ooofff...I've got my AI-caution pill for today. I do apply the 'retrieve instead of synthesize'-idea in my daily (local) llm-as-dictionary workflow...i like them as dictionaries and encyclopedias...too bad there isn't a single equivalent textfile of that data (which I could grep instead).   Realizing the ephemeralness of online networks (and its software): Sure, we can try to "build something better without repeating the mistakes of the past" (by introducing complexity X Y and Z). But perhaps exactly the absence of X Y and Z made it popular in the first place. When does supersecure supersovereign become super in-accessible?   realisation: I seem to get interested in pioneering tech, and not so much in overmature 'streaming' or 'realism' layers of the tech. I love observing ideas which are different, futuristic, abstract or minimalistic. For example, a cute pixely banana-GIF, or funny symbols: ▘ ▙ ▚ ▛ ▜ ▝ ▞ ▟ Not even sure if I agree with myself here, but using computers as TV's is when things get boring?
