O2 Germany’s systems and customer support have always been among the worst I’ve experienced, right up there with Telekom and Deutsche Bank. But today, I had my first encounter with them in the AI era. Chatbot: What’s the issue? Me: I can’t log in into my account. (…) Chatbot: I’m sorry I can’t help you with that. Would you like to speak to a human? Me: Yes! Chatbot: Of course, but you’ll have to log in to your account first. Me: 🤦♂️ You gotta love it!

I’ve been avoiding Tahoe all this time, but the macOS 27 public beta finally got me to upgrade and migrate to the new M5 MacBook Pro I bought earlier this year. It sat in a drawer for far too long, but I’m glad I followed @marcoarment’s advice on ATP and pulled the trigger early. The same configuration would cost me 1,000€ more today, now that prices have gone bonkers. 😳

Yesterday I realized I was locked out of my O2 account. Earlier today I ran into a technical issue with my health insurance while trying to activate my digital ID. And now, while booking a train ticket with Deutsche Bahn, you guessed it, it failed due to yet another technical issue. Truly marvelous times we live in. Can’t wait for AI to take over the world.

Is it just me, or has macOS 27 removed the Shortcuts launcher from the menu bar? What’s the fastest way to launch a shortcut now? Typing the shortcut’s name into Spotlight rarely works. And when it does, it’s slow as hell. #Shortcuts #SiriAI #macOS27

“What I keep noticing is how much of my work isn’t about the model being smart enough. It never was. The model has been smart enough for a while. What the model can’t do is know what I’m trying to build, why it matters, and which of the ten reasonable paths forward is the right one.” https://joostboer.com/the-better-the-model-the-more-my-taste-matters

Is anyone in my circles dealing with #LongCovid and open to connecting (English / German / Czech)? The beast still won’t let me off after ten months, so I thought I’d look for sparring partners.

Defuddle (by @kepano) — a neat little tool that extracts the content of any URL into a Markdown document. It can also be called via curl, which makes it handy for AI workflows. https://defuddle.md

Looks like Apple broke #CloudKit sync in OS 26.4. Remote notifications don’t seem to arrive, so no updates unless the app is relaunched. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/820550
