I was lucky enough to play Null Sector at #EMFCamp this year (8pm on Sunday) and I had an absolute blast introducing people to the new wave of UK Breakbeat Hardcore! Unfortunately I'm a clumsy oaf, and accidentally stopped my recording about 3 minutes in... New Toy! It’s a “Ringer No 2A” which generated the tones, ringing current and timing pulses for small phone exchanges the UK They were commonly used in UAX13s (50-400ish lines) but did show up in other exchanges The middle third is a 50V DC motor The left third houses a series of notched wheels and magnetic pickups that generate tones (similar to a Hammond organ) On the right is a slowly rotating set of cams and contacts that chop them up into “ring-ring” etc I’ve wanted one for aaaages!

I&#39;ve fixed my DECT phones, which have been offline since I changed the IP address of my asterisk server back in January. The fix took all of 5 minutes to implement, but nearly 5 months to get around to. It&#39;s been that sort of a year so far

Soaking some really manky telephone handset cords in a detergent solution to clean them up a bit. Tomorrows job will be to wipe them down and reform the coils - then they should be back to “acceptable” condition, ready to go on phones
