Did a silly thing. Everyone, meet Moowena. To preemptively answer your questions: 1) The place where @siaronj@toot.wales works was having a clear-out and needed to get rid of it. 2) We hired a big van and did a 6 hour round-trip to north Wales. 3) We have no idea 🤣 4) We have absolutely no idea 🤣 🤣 🤣

These doesn't exactly feel the most appropriate day to have done this (🥵) but I've *finally* finished my late winter blanket. It was delayed by 6 weeks while I did a "find the discontinued yarn" quest, then I had to frog & redo two sections when I realised I wasn't happy with the colour contrast - but now it's finally done. Considering I made it up as I was going, I'm really happy with it - now to put it away in a cupboard for 3+ months 🤣 #crochet #fiberarts

Our ward elected three Reform candidates. My first thought was &quot;great, everyone around me is a selfish bigot&quot; but then I looked at the actual voting numbers. The Labour + Green vote FAR exceeded the Reform vote, even Reform + Conservative. The two Labour incumbents were only narrowly beaten (something like 30 votes, with the winner getting 2400 votes). Bountiful stone harvest from one of the veg beds this year. (I know how we ended up with so much stone in the area - a former owner was a stonemason and used it as a store/dumping ground before it grassed over - but I&#39;m surprised how many large stones were still digging up after four years of growing in there...) #GrowYourOwn #gardening

This week has felt like a taste of summer. I&#39;ve pottered in shorts &amp; flip flops most days this week, we&#39;ve had pleasant evening walks in the evenings, ice lollies on the sun loungers after spurts of gardening, and we went swimming today (first outdoor swim of the year). I know The Rain is due again this coming week but this has been nice.

Hey Masto, can anyone help me? About a year ago, I read about a guy but I can't remember his name. What I can remember: he was an inept explorer in the 1800s, in the Americas/the US. Every time he left his base fort, he got lost & needed rescuing. One time, a search party was sent to rescue him but he evaded them, thinking they were a Native tribe wanting to harm him. Eventually he stumbled up an actual Native tribe who took him home. Any ideas? The AI-filled search engines are failin...

This stream in our field had dried up last summer by the time Rosey developed her water splashing obsession, and the greenery that grew then camouflaged its return. She discovered it this morning. Might need a second carpet cleaner. #dogsofmastodon #springerspaniel

Was reading about Emma Sharp the other day - thought to be the first woman to walk 1000 miles in 1000 hours. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Sharp) It&#39;s obviously an impressive feat but the way she did it is really something: completing 14,600 laps of 120 yards each. I can just about imagine walking 1000miles in 1000 hours but can&#39;t comprehend walking 14,600 laps of such a small distance 🤯

For our annual Scotland spring roadtrip, I&#39;d been thinking about a return to the Western Isles, with a focus on the southern end, but the ferry shenanigans of late has put me off. Sigh. Now trying to decide where to go instead. Kintyre and Islay perhaps (new ferry permitting)? Or the west coast above Ullapool? Decisions, decisions. @felicitymartin - you don&#39;t happen to have a new book coming out soon that would plan our whole trip for me, do you?? 😀 That was so convenient last...

Just back from a fab long weekend in North Wales. Started with a wander around the Great Orme at Llandudno on Friday (tiny lambs! tiny kids! tiny balancing sheep!), then fish&#39;n&#39;chips (mandatory) and a night in the Conwy valley. On Saturday, we started with a walk at Rhaeadr Fawr/Aber Falls, followed by lunch in Beaumaris and a lovely evening walk at Niwbwrch/Newborough Forest &amp; beach. It was super low tide so we got to go over to the island and watch the sunset 🤩

(Related to the SilentSunday post I just made) Had a fab walk yesterday - not too far from home but a route we haven&#39;t walked for 18months, using part of the Pennine Way. It had snowed on Friday too, making it feel a bit more novel: the sun had turned the valleys green again by Saturday but the tops were still white. A glorious day of sunshine after weeks of fog!
