Humanity will erase itself at some point. The battered and bruised planet will regenerate. Perhaps the next inhabitants will do better. But for now, I will live my best life with love, empathy for the deserving, and integrity.

"We are not just losing our grip on the truth, but on the very concept of objective truth, our tether to reality." - Daniel R. DeNicola

I lost my favorite cousin today. He'd been failing for a while and died peacefully in his own bed. He was older than me, but we were quite close when I was a kid. He taught me guitar. He was the only adult in my life at the time who made me feel seen and appreciated. He will be missed by me and many others. A truly great guy.

My mom passed on this day, her birthday, 8 years ago. We all miss her everyday. Having a toast to you, Mom, at the lake house!

I can accept change, uncertainty, death, questioning the purpose of the universe. What I will never understand is why humans, citizens of the planet, possessing vast intellect, can't find SOME way to manage our differences, while allowing each of us to live in peace. It's not rocket science. #peace #universe #purpose

My intolerance for idiots has reached new levels. My list of friends gets smaller every year. And that doesn't make me sad.

The writer-for-hire of 40 years didn’t translate into the freelance creative writer as easily as I had reckoned it would. It's been a struggle.

I’m in the third act of life, what (besides death--there, I said it before you could think it), could be coming next? Maybe a novel? Maybe a move to another country? Maybe a research project. Maybe a new career?

Chrome OS and Linux. GitHub. Hugo. Netlify. Domains. Static sites. IndieWeb. That's what I've been working with today. And I'm not really a techie. Guess that's why my brain hurts tonight. Wish me luck.

I fell down some outdoor steps today. Didn't trip, had a low blood pressure episode and momentarily blacked out. No injuries, just a bruised ego, and embarrassment. The worst part, my wife saw the whole thing on the Ring camera. Oops 😬!

I wish the authorities would make some laws regarding #ebikes, and start enforcing them. An 82 yo veteran waking home from his part-time job at a local school was hit and killed on the sidewalk in our town by a 14 yo, kid who was horsing around on his ebike and lost control of it. His mama's going up on charges for it. I'm tired of watching these unruly kids flying down the sidewalks at 30 mph without a care in the world. We need laws! We need enforcement! #Bikes should not b...
