The actual quote is “For my team, the cost of compute is far beyond the costs of the employees,” which doesn’t say much about whether human labor or AI is more expensive by result, but merely that his budget for people is lower than his budget for AI/compute. Slop howtos are annoying, especially when it’s close, but no cigar. Just read through a howto on getting Gemma4 to run using different frameworks and stumbled over examples that used gemma4:12b. A 12B model was not part of the release. Thanks for that canary, I guess. 🙄
