Am on Malta, but instead of visiting UNESCO sites, I am spending my days in an abattoir making #parchment. This lovely goatskin is finally finished, after two days of hard and stinky labour. The sheepskin is next! #medieval #parchment @historikerinnen @histodons @medievodons

I'm glad finally to be able to share the link to my finished project eManuSkript: https://emanuskript.vercel.app/. This is a suite of tools for teaching and learning digital #palaeography and #codicology as applied to #western Latin #manuscripts. I'm going to have TWO full-time one-year #postdocs available from 1 April: one for a historian with knowledge of #medieval Latin #palaeography, one for a computer scientist/#programmer (or someone else with a proven ability to code software). Both postdocs will have their own assistants! The job descriptions will be out in January, but please re-post this and forward it on to people you think may be interested/qualified. I'm happy to answer questions. @medievodons @histodons

What’s the latest on #BiDi scripts? Am looking for an up to date resource or set of resources to put together an introductory lecture for a course on #Persian #manuscripts this summer. My knowledge is now a few years behind.

If you’re very very nice to your manuscript librarian, they might gift you with a bucket (!) of medieval seal impressions for your teaching! #palaeography #sigillography

The names we use for objects in medieval book studies really do sound like they've come directly from a fantasy novel: The Hours of Joanna the Mad The Springmount Bog Tablets The Golden Codex of St Emmeram
