  Is there something like a Bandcamp / Mirlo for film? If we don`t like these gigacorp streaming services, where do we go? Where are all the independent radical anti-capitalist films? Do they exist? With all its problems, in music it is easy to stop subscribing to Spotify and to start buying music pretty directly from the artists. Is there something similar for movies?

  I used a Norwegian open-source tool to analyze my old Spotify data as a customer. I don't use Spotify anymore, but I can announce that of all the money I ever paid them, approx. 5% went to the artists I listened to. That is a pretty insane transfer of wealth from the bottom / middle to the top if you ask me. I already knew Spotify is a big scam for those not at the top, but seeing the numbers still gives me a bodily reaction. 😢 #spotify #bigtech #music

  More ethical #Ai Most people who mainly listen to pop music will not go as far as to drop streaming completely, so best I can do (other than explaining why they should) is to tell them about alternatives to Spotify. Many people switch to Qobuz with no problems. How about LLM services? People use ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Saying don`t use LLM`s is not an option. Is there a non-local, easy to use web LLM chatbot run by a corporation that doesn`t give millions to Trump?
