  Does anyone happen to know of a syntax highlighter for regex? I want to do some writing about them, and am coming to the conclusion that I might just have to write my own little parser to add enough color for them to be readable Edit: specifically looking for something I can embed in my own web project

  Hey, #digipres folks, what algorithms do you use for periodic fixity checks on data at rest (esp. if stored in the cloud)? CRC32 is tempting, because it's much faster than MD5 (and thus presumably cheaper in terms of compute, emissions, and money). However, I get the impression that it's not much used for this purpose. Is that because of collision worries? Not being cryptographically secure? Something else?

  Hi #digipres folks, does anyone have experience working with FileMaker 12 files? I'm trying to do QC on migrating data out of them, and a tool to display in batch how many records are in each file would be very useful

  I really love this annotated definition of #digipres that Natasha Fisher (digital archivist at arquives.ca) gave at #c4l26. In fact, I've printed it out to put on the bulletin board by my desk!
