What's a good app for finding bike routes specifically around Metro Vancouver? e.g. Apple Maps gave garbage directions from New West to PoCo. Google Maps did a decent job. However, Google maps gave terrible directions around Mount Pleasant area. (told me to go along 12th instead of 10th for some dumb reason) I only really use Google Maps when I have to, but it’s also time to switch away from Apple maps. The main need is bike-friendly mapping system. #bike #ebike #vancouver #bc

Language is important, and I think ‘externalities’ allows us to brush too much under the rug. What it really ends up being is “government spending” either in extra healthcare funding, extra road works, wildfire management costs etc. I suggest switching the term to government spending when discussing these ‘investments’. E.g. Building a pipeline to BC will require increased government spending in wildfire management. Up from $1B in 2018 (https://publications.gc.ca/collections/collection_2025/rn...

I have to say, ‘chat’ is a great gender-neutral alternative that seems to becoming commonplace over ‘guys’. I still favour folks, because to me it puts the speaker/writer on the same level as those they address. But it doesn’t have the humour of saying ‘chat’, especially if it enters IRL conversation to address your group of friends. #etymology
