  @jon - Regarding the German border police checks you’ve mentioned. This morning, I arrived in Berlin from Pisa by plane. I was one of the first off, and when we entered BER there was a group of about 10 Bundespolizei asking to see people’s passports/papers. I was waved through but they stopped others. A few minutes later, I asked a guy why they had stopped him and he said it was because he wasn’t dressed well and shrugged it off. I found the whole thing unconscionable.
