  Half my chore time is devoted to cardboard management and disposal and the 21st century is wrapped in a cardboard box, delivered by a frustrated driver forced to piss in a bottle to make minimum wage. Tell me that’s not a proper description of our current culture.

  After months of waiting for this stupid part for my trike, I called again today, waited on hold, again, and after a bit of being pushed around my part is finally in. Going tomorrow to pick it up. If all goes well, Saturday I will go pick it up and have it running again. #motorcycle

  30 days till the kid’s wedding. Made final payments on venue, flowers, and cake. One more invoice to pay the DJ. My kid picked the year Taylor Swift got married, the Taylor Swift tax is way higher than I knew. If your a new girl dad, princess wedding’s are gonna cost you way more than you think, plan ahead.

  In other good things for today, I finally got to the range with my .38 I picked up right before the house renovations and the summer relocation. I like it. I need to shoot it more as the 2” barrel is very different. My grouping is fine but off-center to the left. Level just need to dial in my aim, adjust for the barrel length and stance. The .357 was spot on though…. I still like it much more than any handgun I have used. Time to clean them all.

  I gotta say, the strawberry shortcake I made using fresh local berries was absolutely delicious. Made everything from scratch. Was pleased with the new shortcake recipe. Simple but very flaky and tender but just crispy to absorb the sweetness of the berries. Been 26 years since I cooked professionally but I can still throw down. I also grilled up some ribeyes and a nice garden picked tomato and cucumber salad.

  If anyone in Seattle/King County and want dog supplies, food, and a literal ton of toys and stuffies, we have a ton. I can easily donate the food and unused meds but toys unless new seem to not be wanted. Our pup played with some but most have just been sitting and never touched. Most are Bark Co. medium sized toys and chews. I would be willing to deliver in the local area if needed. #seattle

  Painting started yesterday, electrical panel relocation and new 200amp circuit in addition to our very old 125amp. Going to have it wired for solar/generator as well. Want to get some panels, 12v batteries, inverter and start some illegal solar power. It would be nice to have a steady supply with a decent battery backup to keep costs down.

  Started playing The Planet Crafter and it has all the elements I want from a game right now. Resource gathering, building, exploration, no combat, optional online play, not cartoonish. Seems short as far as these kinda games but looks like there is some DLC.

  Just saw the head of security for Plaid post directly for 3 roles I have watched for 6 months. By all accounts the postings have thousands of applicants. They have reviewed all these applications and no one fit the bill? It’s the same for Nordstrom, Docusign, and about 15 other roles I am tracking. Why is a leader asking for people when they have gotten a huge pool to pick from? Maybe read the resumes instead of feeding the slop machine, you may find someone.

  Was able to get my GPU doing its thing with Plex. I have a bit of an I/O issue with the drives…plenty of space, just need to use it better.

  Last night I got fed up with my Plex server stuttering and started digging in to figure out what was going on. I realized I was transcoding with the CPU not GPU, and I never configured anything for transcoding with QuickSync. Hopefully that fixes up remote streaming a bit. Now I can continue to slowly move the rest of the services over to the new server.

  My love for Deadwood, SD, #harleydavidson #motorcycle and little kids looking at bikes has collided. I will always take time to allow little people to dream. I was that little boy who loved motorcycles and stuff, when someone did something to bring me closer, I would be awe struck.   Started studying for the CRISC exam. Don’t think I will sit for it this year, thinking of doing some work to sit for CISSP before the end of the year. If I can get CISSP under my belt, I should be able to knock out CRISC right after. May as well use this time to get something accomplished while I continue to look for work.

  As much as I dislike saying it, I could really benefit from an in office job for a while. The last 6 months has made me realize that for close to 15 years, people I talked to and built relationships with, I have never met in real life. That is a sad way to live, I don’t want it, and have lost a lot of skills in human relations.

  Sad we are not moving back home today. Too much work needs to happen before we can get back in, primarily painting which was supposed to be done Friday… I have to be back in town tomorrow and Tuesday so I will be at the house cleaning up dust and stuff

  I am just about done with Claude. Maybe I keep a low level personal account with just api usage. The daily (it seems) price change, model changes etc are too much, Codex and the new work stuff from OpenAI are enough.

  Been having issues with my NAS as it’s been at 97% capacity and just realized data scrubbing was not on…. Nothing like gaining 6TB and still reclaiming….should have about 9TB total when done to mess with. I also need to get soulseeker figured out once I finish this server switch.

  Just went to some foreign Harley website and almost died at the prices until I realized they were not US prices…
