  So after an android update last night my phone would not unlock and i ended up doing a factory reset. I came really close to taking the opportunity to install grapheneos but chickened out at the last minute. I did install as much as I could from fdroid though.

  Before attending #fedimtl I always treated mastodon as one big thing. I understood that there are connected instances but it's thanks to the talk @saskia@backend.newsmast.org gave that I've started to see it as a collection of communities who can talk to each other rather than servers on a network.

I learned a huge amount from them but at first it was really tough to get my head around the way they were written. Being familiar with your pager's functionality definitely helps.
