  The key is not to have the *right* RF adapter but *enough* RF adapters. Needed to go from male TNC to male UHF, and it only three adapters to go from TNC to N to N to UHF.

  So I found myself in an interesting situation this weekend camping. One of the other campers got a flat tire, and found a tire shop in town so all we needed to do was take the tire off her car and take it into town. No big deal.   The high point of the tour group I hosted at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum this weekend was the fact that we offer a rental program, so after showing everyone around all day, they got to get up in a locomotive and with an instructor learn how to drive a train! #trains #locomotive #choochoo

  I'm working the fireworks show in Salinas this year, and the show is going to have both fireworks and a drone segment. 300 drones for the show, and getting to check out the command tent for it was very interesting. They have high gain wifi antennas for high speed telemetry downlink from the drones, but the primary command channel and RTK GPS uplink to the drones is on sub-GHz Lora

  Went to drop off $860 in dimes to the bank, and they didn't have enough trays to handle that many and had to resort to rubber bands. But they remembered I'm the same joker who brought in $200 in Nickels last week and had my boxes to give back to me, so that's nice that I got the cardboard boxes back for another batch.

  My new house has 10G Internet, but the ONT hands it off as 10GbaseT, so I'm faced with the challenge of figuring out what router I want to use to enable that while somehow avoiding being responsible for installing and managing my own NOS on a miniPC.

  Through a series of events I ended up with the disk array that was hosting the Vger VM for the LKML, and instead of getting them slabbed and sold as #Linux history collectibles, I wiped them and gave them to a coworker to get them out of my office. Feel like this might have been a missed opportunity.

  What started as me giving my dad an EcoFlow Delta 3 for Father's Day has evolved into spending a day with him installing EMT on the south side of the house so his playing with solar panels to power the office doesn't need to involve him crawling under the house anymore. I just wanted him to have a way to keep the fridge running if the power went out.

  On the phone with support for my brokerage account, and he needed to ask me one of my security questions. "What is your favorite locomotive?" Didn't phase him one bit that I had a specific favorite locomotive. Can't image how bizarre those security questions get when you can fill in both the questions and the answers.
