    Noticing even more lately how often women authors show the women in their books—even the kick-ass ones with swords—are guided, pushed, elbows gripped, men’s hands on backs. Rarely is this made a point of; usually it’s just routine &amp;amp; unremarkable. Says something anyway about gender &amp;amp; autonomy tho.

    In an effort to preserve what little effectiveness I might retain, I&amp;#39;ve been spending significant time updating my muted words list. (Tbf, a little machine learning sprinkled into mutes would actually be appreciated and even be what I&amp;#39;d consider an actually appropriate use of &amp;quot;AI.&amp;quot;)

    I get why two-factor auth is so in vogue, but GAH! I&amp;#39;ve been locked out/delayed from accessing so many accounts through the vagaries of 2FA, not to mention how much trouble it has given me to help non-tech people sort this stuff out. Are we sure this is the best we can do?

    I hate that ugh-so-noisy big politics overwhelms individual and person-level talk on so many online networks these day. How tf do we get some more regular convos so we can get the connections we need to actually deal with big politics?
