Noticing even more lately how often women authors show the women in their books—even the kick-ass ones with swords—are guided, pushed, elbows gripped, men’s hands on backs. Rarely is this made a point of; usually it’s just routine & unremarkable. Says something anyway about gender & autonomy tho.
