  "Your Desire" is a #song about circumstances... external instability that creates a sort of helpless feeling... the inability to get to where you want to be.   Earlier today, I got a voicemail from an elderly lady, it was a wrong number. Something about her message made me think she was lonely and needed some help. At first, I thought about just deleting it. But, I called her back, told her she had a wrong number, and then asked if there was anything she needed. She was ok in the end. But I could hear her smile.

  In 2014 I was booked to sing a song for a WW1 remembrance concert. I practised and practised on my guitar for months to make sure it was perfect. The day before the concert, I came down with laryngitis. The only time in my life I've ever had it. I still went to the concert and played the guitar part as best I could. I hope the people in the audience were singing the words in their heads.

  Some people use social media to "other" people they dont know... to signal to out groups that other outgroups are "bad people". They lie because they are unhappy with who they are and have nothing to offer the world except negativity. I think we should pity them. I call it "mal-addiction". This clip has some flashy images. But nothing too intense.

  The album "Approaching the Horizon" carries the concept of love being infinite and a fundamental force of nature. And yes, it is on #bandcamp and #subvert "Dark Matter" opens the album with a musical callback to the second in the trilogy... a song about the immeasurability of passion and of feeling like you are always destined to be alone... as the album develops, the cosmic theme makes it clear, we will be united at the end of time...

  Another from 2021 now... "Stay in Bed" is a sort of darkly humorous song... when you just know there's not going to be any good news, and that another crisis is sure to ruin your plans.   I wrote, recorded, produced and released an EP in one 12 hour session last year. I try to this as challenge for me once a year. The only instruments I used was a Roland TR-08, a JX-08 and my voice. What I made is best described as minimalist dark-wave / electronica. If you'd like to hear what "Justice" sounds like then let me know in the comments!

  Time for a reminder. I'm 46. I started releasing music when I was 41. I'm outwardly uncool. No special characteristics. My music is not on trend. However... A dedication to grow, learn and never take no for an answer has seen my music be projected into national radio, and in real music magazines. All without PR, adverts or a manager. You can do this.   Many people say that this is one of my most intense songs... me, turned up to 11. And I say to those people, this is what it is like inside my head... all the time. Being a butterfly is an analogy... do you sometimes feel like there must be more than this? I suppose this is electronic rock, with a very large dose of alternative.
