  I have an enum with 5 values and when I type an MyEnum.valueOf(... IntelliJ suggests a text with typos in them, instead of predefined Enum values, consistently. This used to work just fine, yet now it's broken, and it looks like it's an #aiagent that is poorly predicting text instead of just inspecting the actual code. I understand the appeal of #AI, but this is not the way. #jetbrains #intellij #kotlin #dev

  I'm not against AI per se. For generating graphics and code I've seen some pretty impressive and useful things. I'm allergic to "you'll be left behind" zealots though. I don't think the productivity bottleneck in the average organisation is in writing code, but in human alignment, code reviews and delivery pipelines. There is also a dire need for regulation to ensure LLM's aren't based on theft and don't compete...

  Teams is useful as a shared irritation. Somebody shows up late? "Teams refused to let me join". Somebody forgets to turn on their mic? "Teams bolloxed my audio". Somebody didn't prepare their work?   Looking at value, I'd say the summum is freeing people's time to focus on family, society and self expression. It's odd that whenever the news talks about the success of AI, it's people getting fired from their jobs and consequently not being able to afford any of that. That doesn't sound like success at all.
