First and foremost... AI data centers are bad and need to be stopped. AI slop code in projects that are meant to be used for anything serious is bad, and honestly, AI is generally not great for humans. With that out of the way.... I wanted to see what the current state of things are with open source tools, open source models, and actually consumer hardware ($300 USD mini PC before the AI panic) Ryzen 5825U with 32GB RAM, and this is what I've got running thus far with opencode and north-min...

Genuinely considering running CoreDNS as an authoritative nameserver for my domains just no I don't have to log into a web UI that I can't have local backups of. Am I taking git ops a bit far for a homelab, probably. Will anyone stop me? Nope. #homelab #dns

@klardotsh@merveilles.town before I forget to ask, pride is Saturday. Any chance you want to chill for it? This is the relatively calm event.

RE: https://social.karotte.org/@moehrenfeld/116562387765802585 Another day I can point to on why I host my own stuff. Thanks forgejo, and Codeberg for keeping it free of Gitea. Forks are great.

Well lookie there, a blog post of what I've been up to in the homelab. When I'm quiet, something's usually coming. https://blog.kdb424.xyz/git-ops/

Finally got around to making an org for my homelab to keep it easy for others to see what all is open source! https://git.kdb424.xyz/homelab

Once I upload the source code of my blog to my git server, it now fully builds in CI, uploads to it's registry, and then sends a webhook to part of my gitops pipline to redeploy the swarm of containers that my VPS serves said blog from. My lab has become far too complex compared to the early days. Ironically, I now need to update a blog post about how the blog is delivered .w.

Updated my stack over the years, honestly mostly the last month or two mostly. Documented the changes in a blog post as I know people have been asking about how I did things. Warning, it's a long one! https://blog.kdb424.xyz/hosting-with-gitops/

No matter how hard I've tried to change my playlist, Sleep Token keeps taking it back over. I'm not that mad even.

About to build a pen plotter... 3d printers are more reliable than 2d these days I swear. No DRM on the ink on plotters as well. Half rant, half actually want to build it.

Nearly ready to open source my entire self hosted stack so people can not only see what I run, but how I do so. Only a few last secrets to get out of files before I can do so. It's been years coming, so glad I'm finally getting around to it, even if it's when I have a fairly complex homelab setup.

Sometimes I wish I even knew where to start with art so I could create an OC. Then I realize that I have no clue where I'd start on making an OC. Then I give up on it all. A few months later I start the cycle again. One day... I'll break the cycle. Today I nap.
